Turin, son of Hurin

Hey everybody, I'm down here at Ringling again for the Illustration Academy where I'm training my brain. It's a blast so far, and it's a rush to be surrounded by so much talent and drive. There are amazing things happening around here. I'm really glad I decided to come back again for my second time through. Here's what I'm working on now. It's a portrait of Turin from the book, "Children of Hurin." He's cursed by Morgoth and can't do anything right. Poor him. Crit with Gary Kelly is in an hour, so I've got to post this and run. I'll be back after about 10 hours of Gary ripping all of us to shreds!

Covers for books that people like me read.

Hey everyone, the 2008 Senior Illustration Show was a hit, and everything went perfectly. A gigantic thank you to all the committee members and everybody else who helped out. I can only hope the show next year is just as good. Seeing all the work on the walls in Roskamp and the Bayous got me thinking that our year might be a little hard to beat. Good luck to all you future Illustration seniors!

Anyway, here are my book covers for the Thesis show. Enjoy! And any crits would be awesome.

Way of the Wolf WIP

Hey there. I have a work in progress here and I would very VERY much appreciate any crits or comments. Darker or lighter? Texture or no texture? Texture doesnt show up too well in this small version.. It just looks messy. I'll take it down and replace it with the final after thesis is over. Thankyou!

Best of Ringling 2008

Hey everybody, good news today. One of my sumi brush drawings was selected for display in the best of ringling show this year. I'm going to have to start doing more of these, at least a couple every day or so. They go so freakin' fast, and it's incredibly fun. Look for more sumi sketches on the way. I'll also be posting a couple in progress works for my thesis in a few days, and I'd LOVE any sort of crits or comments you could give me. Oh, and thanks for visiting!
